As at the end of FY2024, Univers’ applications and renewable energy asset management software enabled customers to avoid a total of 541 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent (“tCO2e”) in their value chains– equivalent to nearly 1.5 times the United Kingdom’s national greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions in 2024. This speaks volumes of the impact we make at Univers.
Tackling climate change requires urgent climate action backed by science. Setting science-based emissions reduction targets and having them validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (“SBTi”) is a rigorous and highly selective process. As of 9th August 2025, according to the SBTi website, only 8,682 companies have validated science-based targets, and just 2,033 have approved net-zero targets.
At Univers, we have stepped up to this challenge.
We are proud to announce that Univers is now one of the 2,033 companies to have approved near-term, long-term, and net-zero targets validated by the SBTi — the global gold standard for corporate climate commitments.
The SBTi has verified Univers’ science-based net-zero targets by 2040, positioning us as a global leader in the low-carbon transition who walks the talk and leads by example.
This milestone reflects our deep-rooted commitment to credible, measurable climate action, and further adds to the foundation for continued delivering of real, science-based decarbonisation across our value chain.

These targets are fully aligned with the SBTi’s 1.5°C pathway. In line with the SBTi Net-Zero Standard, we will prioritise direct emissions reductions and all residual emissions will be neutralised (if applicable) in line with SBTi criteria before achieving net-zero emissions.

This is merely one step in a journey that started when founding our business. Rapid and deep emissions cuts are crucial to achieving Net Zero — and we are fully committed. With our science-based targets set and validated by the SBTi, we have reaffirmed our position as the trusted partner for decarbonisation software and solutions, creating value with our customers while holding ourselves to the same rigorous standards.
